Automaticon testing services are a form of automatic verification of a given software functionality. Automated tests are created based on the requirements for an application in order not to repeat the same actions many times during the development of software or devices, and to be able to run a whole set of instructions that will be executed in a specific order and verify that the software actions are as expected behavior. 

Automated tests can be performed at every stage of software development, as well as at many different levels. Iterative adding of tests allows you to detect potential bugs at an early stage, which is much cheaper and requires less changes. In addition, a “regression test suite” is also created, i.e. a set of tests which task is to protect against introducing errors into the code – if a given portion of the code is tested and approved, regression tests should be run after each subsequent change to ensure that new changes did not break the old functionalities. 

Automation testing services are carried out on many levels – they can be unit tests, where individual pieces of code are tested (usually Test Driven Development), they can be tests of more than one file (BDD – Behavior Driven Development), i.e. unit testing (ET – Entity Testing). You can also automatically perform performance tests (PET / PERF – Performance Test). Such tests are usually difficult to perform manually because they require the tester to perform many activities in a very short time (or almost simultaneously).

Often, the procedures can take many hours, which would require changes to the keyboard and at the same time add an element of uncertainty in the form of human error. By automating the test, we can run a procedure that will repeat itself for a certain period of time and at the same time take care of something else. It also gives us the repeatability of the results.

We can automatically test everything – small applications, websites or very expensive equipment. The testers most often use the “black box” method, where the testable object (SUT – system under test) is treated as a black box, i.e. we do not know what is inside. Knowing the client’s requirements and being able to program the input data accordingly, we check whether the output data complies with the expectations. If so, the test can be considered passed. Many frameworks can be used for testing, such as Pytest, Cucumber, Behave, and Robotframework that facilitate the tester’s work.

Another type of automation testing services are those carried out by developers, i.e. “white box”. In this case, the person who creates the test knows the contents of the box that they are testing, so they can check on a much lower (more accurate) level whether the individual elements of the box behave correctly. Such tests are usually written in the language in which the application is created and are created on an ongoing basis together with the software code (or even before it, in accordance with the TDD rules).
